Something you've been wondering about?

You may not be the first! Below are some answers to commonly asked questions from our BI's. If you can't find the answer you seek here, please reach out to your admin team!


Financial

  • How do I get paid?

    You are paid via e-transfer on or before the 15th or 30th of each month. Paul McFadzen will contact you to set up your first transfer.

  • Do I get a T4

    No. You are responsible for your own taxes as you are self-employed as a contractor.

  • Who do I talk to about my paycheque?

Scheduling

  • How do I get more hours?

    Let admin know your availability and interest in getting more hours. Let the BC's that you work with know that you are interested in more hours as well.

  • Can I schedule more hours with the client?

    No. Client schedules are managed by the BC and Family, keeping in mind the program goals and funding availability. You may not offer more sessions at your discretion.

  • Can I manage my own schedule? (Add or remove hours)

    You let us know your availability, and we will schedule sessions within that. You are not able to add sessions with clients or cancel standing appointments. If you need schedule adjustments please let the team BC know.

  • Help! I need keys for my session!

    Please arrange to get keys for a shared space prior to your session to avoid panicky moments. Contact admin to arrange pick up of keys or liasing with a site supervisor to let you in.  If this has not been pre-arranged your session will be cancelled.


Time Off

  • Who do I contact when I am sick?

    Whats app team channel and admin@skillstoplay.com.

  • When can I take a vacation?

    You can determine when you take a leave. We would like as much notice as possible to arrange coverage. Leaves over 2 weeks will result in replacement on your teams to provide consistency with the client.

  • What happens during bad weather?

    Skills to play will post in the general chat if there is a snow day for the company and all sessions will be cancelled. 


    If you find yourself unable to drive due to bad weather, please post in your team channel to arrange coverage or cancellations for your sessions and email admin@skillstoplay.com.


Toys

  • Where can I get more toys?

    Let your BC know that you require a toy top-up and they will arrange this for you.

  • What happens if a break a toy?

    Please let your BC know and they will advise if this should be returned for inventory or disposed of.

  • Can I swap my toys?

    Yes please! This is advised and recommended every month.
